Connect2 - The Kenilworth Connection
The Connect2 project would provide additional funding to complete the upgrade of the Kenilworth Greenway route, and to extend it right into Kenilworth. To link with existing pedestrian/cycling routes. It will also extend a new link across the fields to the University of Warwick campus.
A key feature would be a safe crossing of the busy A429 Coventry Road for pedestrians and cyclists. A new bridge over the Coventry Road is envisaged, in the place where the old railway bridge existed until the 1960’s.

In 2006 the Group built a boardwalk in Bubbenhall Wood in partnership with the British Trust for Conservation Volunteers (BTCV), over a part of the footpath which was muddy and vulnerable to erosion. The project was paid for by a grant from Hanson Environment Fund, with an additional donation from Bubbenhall Parish Council. More walkers now use the path, and the sensitive woodland soils are protected.
