Connect2 - The Kenilworth ConnectionThe Connect2 project would provide additional funding to complete the upgrade of the Kenilworth Greenway route, and to extend it right into Kenilworth. To link with existing pedestrian/cycling routes. It will also extend a new link across the fields to the University of Warwick campus. A key feature would be a safe crossing of the busy A429 Coventry Road for pedestrians and cyclists. A new bridge over the Coventry Road is envisaged, in the place where the old railway bridge existed until the 1960’s. |

KFPG works with partners to improve access to the countryside for all. In 2006 the Group built a boardwalk in Bubbenhall Wood in partnership with the British Trust for Conservation Volunteers (BTCV), over a part of the footpath which was muddy and vulnerable to erosion. The project was paid for by a grant from Hanson Environment Fund, with an additional donation from Bubbenhall Parish Council. More walkers now use the path, and the sensitive woodland soils are protected. |
